HYDRATE
YOUR THROAT with
ENTERTAINER'S SECRET
Keeping
your voice and vocal cords from getting dry is very important.
Use this product for hydration when water just isn't enough!
WHY
NOT JUST DRINK WATER?
Drinking lots of water is good, a healthy and a smart idea
for many reasons. Before extended periods of vocalizing
one should drink a lot of water. But the water passes through
the esophagus into the digestive system and must get into
the circulatory system before it can be delivered to specific
dehydrated areas such as the throat or larynx. Very little
ingested water comes into direct contact with these dehydrated
surfaces. Plus the body's mucous-secreting glands often
just can't produce enough replacement moisturizing materials
quickly enough to keep up with the increased need.

Singing
is an all-day, everyday job! In order for the vocal cords
to stay in shape, they must continually be lubricated in order
to maintain their elasticity. The vocal cords must remain
moist at all times in order for them to vibrate and stretch
properly. |
| Believe
it or not, keeping the vocal cords moist is harder than what
it seems.
The vocal cords can dry out easily due to a variety of facts;
including singing, talking, smoking, stress, drinking caffeine
products, or alcoholic beverages, and using certain over-the-counter
voice sprays and cold remedies. Your voice is a machine
that must be oiled in order to run properly.
Many
singers don’t realize how important it is to keep
the vocal cords lubricated. You must drink plenty of water
throughout the day in order to make this happen. But water
generally takes at least 20 minutes before the vocal cords
receive any lubrication. So I recommend at least 1/2 gallon
of water daily to keep your machine oiled. There are still
times when your throat is dry or hoarse, and you could use
a little help. When your throat is dry, the quality of your
voice will suffer; your voice will sound husky, with little
resonance, and your upper range will shrink, causing unnecessary
stress in your throat when you are trying to sing high notes.
Fortunately
for us, KLI CORP. has created a fantastic product called
Entertainer’s Secret Throat Relief. This product was
formulated to moisturize, humidify, and lubricate the throat
and larynx. It mimics the same natural lubricants of the
throat for instant moisturization. It is the vocal spray
of the stars, with users such as Jon BonJovi, Lyle Lovett,
Jerry Lewis, Glen Close, Alan Campbell, Tom Petty, Debbie
Gibson, Wynonna Judd, Pat Summerall, Brooke Shields, Barry
Manilow, and many others.
Entertainer's
Secret Throat Relief was the result of the collaboration
between KLI CORP and Richard Quisling, MD, a Nashville,
ear, nose, and throat specialist. Their goal was to develop
a product that could protect the voice, as well as restore
and maintain voice quality and comfort without doing harm.
After trying various combinations of different ingredients,
Entertainer's Secret Throat Relief was born. Entertainer’s
Secret was designed to resemble the throats natural moisturizers,
and to help restore vocal quality naturally, safely, and
effectively. It is very soothing, and comforting to the
throat, with a honey-apple flavor that is very pleasing
to taste. It is made up of Sodium Carboxycellulose, Aloe
Vera Gel, and Glycerin, all of which resemble a different
type of mucus (globular, strand, and sheet). Another major
fact that separates this throat spray from others is that
it does not contain any numbing anesthetics, alcohol, antiseptics,
a nalgesics, antihistamines, decongestants, or anti-inflammatory
agents. Any throat sprays that contain any of the above
will dry out your throat, and a dry throat is an unhappy
throat. Anything that numbs your throat only masks the problem.
If you try to sing when your throat is sore, by numbing
the pain, you risk the chance of permanently damaging your
voice. Just because you temporarily don’t feel any
pain, doesn’t mean you aren’t hurting your throat!”
Entertainer’s Secret does exactly what a throat spray
should: Soothe the voice, without drying or numbing the
throat.
It
can be sprayed directly into the throat or sinus passages.
It adjusts the thickness and flow of the mucus in the sinuses
and the passageways of the throat. The nose and throat must
maintain moisture in order to moisturize incoming air. The
sinus passages are lined with tiny hairs, called cilia.
Cilia act as tiny filters, protecting the lungs by continually
flowing back and forth to remove unwanted particles such
as dust, smoke and other pollutants. If the sinuses are
dry or congested, the natural flow of cilia is halted. Spraying
Entertainer's Secret into the sinuses helps to re-establish
the flow of the cilia by moisturizing the sinus passages.
Entertainer’s Secret is like hand moisturizing lotion
for the sinuses and voice.
Entertainer’s
Secret is the only spray I recommend to my students, and
the only spray that I use when I perform. I find
it very useful when I am singing in a venue filled with
tobacco smoke. Smoke will dry out your throat and Entertainer’s
Secret will help to re-moisturize your voice in a smoke
filled environment. Personally, I use a technique called
mist-inhaling, which I describe in more detail in my book
RAISE YOUR VOICE. Basically, as I spray Entertainer’s
Secret into my mouth, I deeply inhale into my lungs. By
inhaling as you spray, you coat and moisturize the vocal
cords. The moist air must pass between the vocal cords before
it enters the lungs. From my experience with this product,
I guarantee it will make a difference in the quality of
your singing voice, and help to maintain your vocal health
for a long-lived vocal career! |
